PianoDisc Silent Piano System
Silent piano playing at any time with ease
The Silent Piano system lets you enjoy playing your acoustic piano silently with the flip of a switch. It converts your instrument into a silent play piano that you can enjoy any time of the day or night without disturbing those around you. Simply plug in the included set of headphones via the 3.5mm audio jack and away you go. Alternatively, you can use your own preferred set of headphones.
How does silent piano playing work?
During installation of the silent piano system a piano silencer rail is added to your instrument. When engaged, this rail prevents the hammers from striking the strings.
The second part of the installation is an advanced optical sensor which accurately captures the precise motion and velocity of the hammers whilst you are playing. This is then converted to MIDI information which is immediately played back via the headphones. And because the Silent Piano optical sensor is completely contact free, it doesn’t affect your piano’s touch. Play silently with the unaltered feel of your acoustic keyboard.
The acoustic piano silent system utilises the same optical sensor strip as the Pro Record component. The silent piano functionality is an optional addon to the Pro Record package and is not available separately.
